Au courant 意為「熟悉時事的；趕上時代的」，是英語所採用的一個法語形容詞，而且英文和法文的拼字完全一樣。這個字與 acquainted, in the know, informed, knowledgeable, up to date, well versed 等字詞的意思相近，在寫作時宜輪流使用不同的字詞，以避免重複。Au courant 後面通常與介系詞 with 連用，再接所熟悉、瞭解或跟得上的事物。
