No more 和 not any more 均意為「不再」，可當限定詞和副詞用，但 no more 比較正式。例如：

No more than, not any more than
No more than 和 not any more than 均意為「不過；只，僅 (only)」(帶有令人驚訝的含意)，但 no more than 比較正式。例如：
- John is no more than a puppet. (約翰只不過是個傀儡)
- John isn’t any more than a puppet.
- Tom makes no more than NTD 22,000 a month. (湯姆每月竟然僅賺 22K)
- Tom doesn’t make any more than NTD 22,000 a month.
- No more than five people applied for the job. (申請這份工作的竟然只有五人)
No more … than, not any more … than
No more … than 和 not any more … than 均意為「與…同樣不；跟…一樣不」，但 No more … than 比較正式。例如：
- He is no more a god/a doctor than we are. (他和我們一樣都不是神/醫生)
- He isn’t any more a god/a doctor than we are.
- She is no more stupid than you are. (她和你一樣不傻)
- She isn’t any more stupid than you are.

Not more than, not more … than
除 no more than 和 no more … than 外，我們不時也會見到 not more than 和 not more … than 的用法。Not more than 意為「不超過，大概不到，頂多，至多 (at most)」(基本上，與 no more than 同義)，而 not more … than 意為「沒有 (達到)…的程度」。例如：
- There were not more than 50 people at his wedding. (頂多 50 人參加了他的婚禮)
- It’s no/not more than 500 meters to the MRT station. (到捷運站不到 500 公尺)
- I am not more stupid than you. (我沒有像你那樣傻)
= I am not as/so stupid as you.
Any more 還是 anymore 呢？
英式英語通常將這個副詞寫成兩個字，即 any more，但美式英語通常寫成一個字，即 anymore；這就是當你在 Word 中寫一個含有副詞 any more 的句子時，any more 被認為錯誤、底下被畫線的原因 。不過，當限定詞用時，只能寫成 any more，不可寫成 anymore。例如：
- My father doesn’t work any more. (我父親不再工作了) (正)
