  • Money in not everything but nothing can be done without money.
  • I like to drink coffee without sugar.

  • Henry left us without a word.
Henry left us without word.
  • He can do mathematics without a calculator.
He can do mathematics without calculator.

Duty, responsibility (nn.)

I will take responsibility for bringing the kid home.

It is our duty to defend our country. (保衛國家是我們的義務);Most women have a strong sense of family duty. (大多數女性都有強烈的家庭責任感);Everyone has a duty to his country. (每個人對其國家都有應盡的義務);Her duties include typing documents and making coffee.

Inequality vs. inequity

There are great inequalities in health care across the country. (全國的醫療保健服務非常不平等);There are many inequalities in the law.

Income inequality results from inequity in society. (收入不平等肇因於社會不公平);Inequality in taxation is a great inequity.

Enough 的用法

Enough 可當限定詞、代名詞和副詞用,意為「足夠 (的/地)」,其主要句型為 enough for somebody/something、enough to do something 及 enough for somebody/something to do something。

Enough

  • The conference room has enough seats for everyone.
  • We’ve seen enough television repeats.
  • I usually don’t get enough sleep.
  • There was enough food for about five people.

Q:There’s three books on the desk.

There’s three books on the desk. There’s lots of cars in the parking lot.
