Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree 是個諺語,意為「有其父必有其子」(like father, like son) 或「有其母必有其女」(like mother, like daughter)。這諺語有時亦寫成 the apple never falls far from the tree。
As men say, the apple never falls far from the stem.”(正如人們所說,蘋果永遠不會落到離莖太遠的地方)。
例句:
- The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree because she became a novelist like her mother.
- His son soon showed his own painting talent, proving that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
- Little Jimmy wanted to become a doctor like his father from a young age, proving the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
- You’re stubborn, just like your mother! I suppose the apple never falls far from the tree.
