  • Betty did a very good math paper, but she still made two mistakes.
  • When I was doing the cooking course, I made two chocolate cakes.

DO: activity, business, cleaning, cooking, course, damage, drawing, duty, exam(ination), exercise, favor, gardening, harm, homework, ironing, job, laundry, one’s best, painting, shopping, task, test, washing (up), work 等。

So 和 not 與 expect, guess, hope, suppose, think 等動詞連用

這些動詞中最常用的是 appear, assume, be afraid, believe, expect, guess, hope, imagine, presume, reckon, seem, suppose 和 think。例如:

  • Denise thinks iPhone 7 is too expensive, and Diana thinks so too. (丹妮絲認為 iPhone 7 太貴,而戴安娜也認為是這樣) - 原句為 … and Diana thinks iPhone 7 is expensive.。
  • A: Do I have to finish writing my composition by Saturday?

Same、similar 和 identical 的用法

  • John and I went to the same school.
John and I went to same school.
  • These two tables are not the same.
These two tables are not same.

The same as

The same 後面是接 as 不是 that 或 than。例如:

I treat daughters exactly the same that sons.
I treat daughters exactly the same than sons.

Nearby

  • My father lives in a nearby village.

  • My father lives nearby.

  • John has been working in a restaurant near the park.
  • John has been working in a restaurant nearby the park.

Come 和 go 的用法 (二):使用 come 或 go 都可以的情況

  1. John came to his father for help.
  2. John went to his father for help.

Come 和 go 的用法 (一):如何正確使用 come 和 go

  • You can come to my office and discuss the matter.
  • Shall I come to your office at 10 am?
